Passed away peacefully at Highview Residences in Kitchener, on Sunday, August 17, 2025, in her 82nd year, in the presence of her family. She is survived by loving husband, John, and sons Bryce (Amy) and Trevor (Karolynn), daughter Julia Tanno (David), and grandchildren, Madeleine, Nolan, Briar, Reed and Ava. Joyce is predeceased by parents Lily and Albert Rayment.

Joyce was born in Hespeler, attended Preston High School, and then the University of Waterloo. She was a beloved high school English teacher with the Waterloo Region District School Board. She continued to be very active in her retirement, involved in heritage site preservation, and tending to her gardens. Joyce was also a valued volunteer with the Waterloo Historical Society, Kitchener Horticultural Society, Friends of the Waterloo County Gaol, and Architectural Conservancy of Ontario over the years.

Special thanks to Highview Residences for providing supportive, loving care for Joyce over the last two years. Joyce will be laid to rest during a private graveside service, surrounded by her loving family.

Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of Joyce at a Celebration of Life taking place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 11am until 2pm. Remarks at 12:30pm.
