Passed peacefully in his sleep on Friday, September 4th, 2026, at Northumberland Hills Hospital in his 88th year with his loving wife by his side.
Arthur Fydirchuk leaves behind Sylvia, his wife of 61 years, his two children Laura and Jeff (Amanda), and his four grandchildren Miranda, Samantha (Dustin), Melissa, Allison (Deyn). He was predeceased by his parents William and Nettie Fydirchuk.
He was a loving brother to Matilda (Nick) Wingie, brothers-in-law Ernie (Irma) Kalinovich, Nestor (Olesia) Kalinowich, and William (Margaret) Kalinowich.
He is also lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
Art was a hard worker for 32 years at General Motors. After retirement his true passion was woodworking. He spent years in his shop building furniture which will be treasured for years to come by his children and grandchildren. He also volunteered his time in the community. He enjoyed many different activities and hobbies with his wife and family.
As per Art’s wishes, a cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life honoring Art will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral home (30 King St E.), Cobourg Ontario on Sunday September 20th, 2026, from 1-4pm. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Art’s life.
If desired donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Roseneath Carousel.
