AYRE, Martyn James Ayre

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Martyn James Ayre, at the age of 78, who passed away peacefully at Bluewater Health, Sarnia, ON, on Saturday, May 9, 2026.

Caring brother of Terence (born 1939) and Lloyd (born 1942).

Predeceased by his parents William and Ann Ayre, and his sisters-in-law, Ruby and Angela.

Martyn will also be dearly missed by Ashleigh and Chris, and many nieces and nephews and extended family in Canada and the UK.

Martyn immigrated from the UK in 1973 and made Forest, Ontario his home, where he built a life rooted in hard work and community. Beekeeping was his true passion, and he took great pride in crafting his own beehives. He found joy in woodworking and gardening, and anything that reflected his patience and creativity. Above all, he valued helping others in need, always ready to share his time or a friendly conversation. Known for his love of chitchat, he also faithfully journaled his daily tasks, preserving the simple moments that mattered most to him.

A graveside service will be held at Beechwood Cemetery on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., where family and friends are welcome to share any memories and stories of Martyn.
