BAKERMANS, Antonia (Toni) Petronella Bakermans

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Antonia (Toni) Petronella Bakermans. Born in the Netherlands, she immigrated to Canada with her beloved husband, the late Wilhelmus Bakermans, to begin a new life rooted in love, faith, and family.

A woman of remarkable strength and compassion, she dedicated many years to supporting others through her work with VON Durham Hospice. Guided by her strong Catholic faith, she built a life defined by service, resilience, and devotion to those she loved.

She was the cherished mother of five sons: Frank (Anne), John, Adrian (Susan pre deceased), Peter (Leanne), and Mark (Colleen pre deceased). She was a proud and loving Oma to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her endless joy.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Reachview Village Long Term Care in Uxbridge for the care, kindness, and companionship they provided in her final years.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VON Durham Hospice, an organization close to Antonia’s heart.

Visitation is Monday November 24,2025 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at McEachnie Funeral Home (28 Old Kingston Rd.)

Catholic Funeral Service is Tuesday November 25, 2025 at St Isaac Jogues Roman Catholic Church (1148 Finch Ave.). Followed by Interment at Erskine Cemetery (north corner of Fairport and Finch Ave.)
