In Loving Memory of Barbara Ruth Stafford It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Barbara Ruth Stafford, in her 80th year, at Peterborough Hospital on Friday, September25, 2026. Barbara was a resident of Mariposa Woods Estate.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter Andrea (Stacey); step-grandchildren Dustin (Lola) and Coty (Lindsay); and her sisters Judy Gleed (the late Stephen Sewell) and Jane Penner (Larry).
She will also be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephew Avis Penner (Enisa), Amanda Tugwell (Micheal), Glenda, and the late Lavina, as well as many extended family members and dear friends.
Barbara spent 25 years as an Outdoor Education Teacher at Claremont Outdoor Education Centre, a role that perfectly reflected her love of nature, the outdoors, and sharing experiences with others. She touched many lives through her work and carried those connections with her throughout her life.
She found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. Barbara loved quilting and volunteering with the guild ladies, cross-stitching, spending time in nature, and her game days at the park. She especially treasured her friendships in the Brighton area, and always spoke fondly of the tea parties, visits, laughter, and special memories shared with those she loved.
Barbara is now reunited with her favorite person in life, her beloved husband, Keith Stafford, and their much-loved dog, Peggy Sue.
Barbara will be remembered for the warmth she brought into people’s lives, her love to talk, her generous spirit, and the countless little moments that made her friendships and family so meaningful.
Until we meet again, Mom. You will always be loved, always be remembered, and forever be a part of our hearts. ❤️ As Barbara wished, there will be no formal service. A private celebration of life and the spreading of Barbara, Keith, and Peggy Sue’s ashes will take place at a special location to be determined by the family at a later date. Rest peacefully, Mom. You are home with Dad now. ❤️
