BATISTA, Peter Paul Batista

It is with great sadness that we announce that Peter passed away after a long battle with cancer. Peter fought to stay to the very end for his family. Dearly loved and deeply mourned by his wife, Maria, of more than 17 years, and his daughter, Ashley. Together they made it possible for Peter to stay at home as long as he could.

Peter is survived by his stepchildren, Stefany (Gary), Nicole (Ryan), Kathleen and Ryan (Jessica). Beloved grandfather of Jakob, Madelyn, Kameron, Mackynzie, Mason, Everly and Nolan. They brought him great joy, and he loved being a grandpa.

Peter was predeceased by his parents, Deocrecio and Castalia, and his sister, Paula (David). He is survived by his sisters, Nelia and Susie (Brent) and his nieces and nephews.

Peter’s passion in life was driving. As a young child, he announced he would be a truck driver when he grew up. He worked in the trucking industry all his life, most recently with Ryder Truck Rentals.

At Peter’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal funeral service. Donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
