BEARD, Alan Franklin Beard

It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Alan Thomas Franklin Beard announces his peaceful passing on January 16, 2026, just three days before his 89th birthday. Al passed away at Strathaven Care Home in Bowmanville after a courageous journey with Parkinson’s disease.

Born on January 19, 1937, Al lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, and unwavering commitment to his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Lana Beard, and his son Jeff, along with Jeff’s wife Leanne. He was a devoted grandfather to their children—Dustin (deceased), Nick, and great granddaughter Madeline, who brought him immense joy. Allan is also lovingly remembered by his daughter Sandra, and her three children: Conner, Jordan, and Jayden. He is further survived by his sister-in-law Janice Prout, her husband Tim, and their daughter Kim, all of whom held a special place in his life.

Al was a General Motors retiree with more than 40 years of service, remembered for his strong work ethic, loyalty, and genuine friendships formed throughout his career.

As per Al’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 12:00 to 3:00 at the Bowmanville Older Adult Association (26 Beech Ave, Bowmanville), where friends and loved ones are invited to gather, share memories, and honour a life well lived.

If desired, memorial donations may be made in Al’s name to organizations supporting Lewy and Parkinson’s disease research.

Al will be remembered for his gentle spirit, warm smile, and enduring love for his family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
