BEEMAN, Betty Adair Beeman

She was born December 14, 1929, one of six children, daughter of Russell and Doris Fleming. She lived the early part of her life in Whitby, attending local schools and church. At the age of 15, she was hit by a car while cycling which changed her life. Because of this, she was in discomfort throughout the rest of her life.

As a young woman, Betty worked with Moral Re-Armament (MRA) and travelled around the world to provide support to others following the aftermath of the Second World War. She later obtained nursing qualifications and became a sought-after caregiver.

Later in life she married Peter Beeman from Kingston. Peter died in 2000 and Betty returned to Whitby shortly after. She cared for her mother, Doris, until she passed a number of years ago.

Betty suffered some illnesses and her last home was in Port Perry Place. She was loved and appreciated by all who knew her and in her latest years, loved her residence and the people who cared for her.
