BELSITO, James Louis Jim Belsito

With heartfelt sorrow, the family announces the passing of Jim at the Health Sciences North in Sudbury on Friday, August 22, 2025 at the age of 65. Beloved husband and best friend of Carol for 43 years. Cherished father of Corey (Kelsey) and Adam (Heather). Proud grandfather of Ayden, Hailey, Connor, Owen and Oliver. Predeceased by his parents Loretta and Joseph Belsito. He will be fondly remembered by his extended family and his many friends.

Jim had a deep love for music, and his passion came alive whenever he picked up an instrument. Over the years, he played in many bands, sharing his talent and joy with anyone lucky enough to hear him perform. When he wasn’t making music, you could often find Jim in his workshop, turning wood into something beautiful with the same care and creativity he brought to everything he did.

Jim was a dedicated and hardworking man. He spent 35 years at Algoma Steel, where he earned the respect of his coworkers through his strong work ethic, reliability, and good-natured spirit. Whether on the job or off, Jim never hesitated to lend a hand—or his back—to help others with their projects. He believed in putting in the effort, doing things right, and being there when it mattered.

He found peace and joy in the outdoors. Camping, hunting, and fishing were some of his favorite pastimes, and he made countless memories in nature with friends and family. But no matter the setting, Jim could light up a room (or a campfire) with his legendary sense of humour. He had a gift for storytelling and an even greater gift for laughter—especially the kind he inspired in others.

Jim’s life was marked by music, craftsmanship, generosity, and joy. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the kind of friendship that doesn’t fade.

Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Service at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Helen Smith officiating. A time of fellowship will follow in the Northwood Lounge. Memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
