Peacefully at Algonquin Grace Hospice on Friday December 26, 2025. Velma, beloved wife of the late Bill, was in her 98th year.
Dear mother of Karen Lizotte (Tom) and Brian White (Tori) and predeceased by infant son Michael White (1953).
Proud grandmother of Derek Leduc (Jacalynne), Amanda White, Erin White, and the late Darryl Leduc (Tara).
Great grandmother of Evelyn and Simon Leduc, Willow and Iris Baker.
Velma is predeceased by her brothers Albert (Veronica), and Harry (Linda) and is the special aunt of Michael (Jennifer) and Mary-Ann Gilchrist.
Velma will be fondly remembered by all her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
As an avid knitter many baby blankets and knitted stockings were gifted over the years.
The family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Dempster Chapel, 210 Ontario Street in Burk’s Falls on Tuesday December 30, 2025 from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8pm.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church, 89 Rain Lake Road in Kearney, commencing at 10am on Wednesday December 31, 2025 with Father Aji Sebastian officiating. Interment in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery in the Spring.
