BEMIS, Thelma Lorraine Bemis

Surrounded by family, Thelma Lorraine Bemis (nee Corner) passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Saturday June 6, 2026, after a brief illness. Born in Whitby on May 27, 1936, she had just celebrated her ninetieth birthday. Wife of the late Mervyn, she is survived by her children Kimberley (James) MacBride, David (Jane) Bemis, Linda Lyons, and Christopher (Brenda) Demis. Proud grandmother of Steven (Victoria) Demis, Mary Demis, Ellen (Justin) McRae, Benjamin Lyons, Wesley (Ashley) Lyons and great grandma of Chloe, Bruce, Luke, Jacob, Evelyn, and Silas. Also survived by her brother Kenneth (Jean) Corner. Predeceased by sisters Aileen, Roma and brother James.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday June 11, 2026, at THORNTON CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE (1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, 905- 579-6787), with visitation from 1pm until service time
at 2pm. Burial to follow.
