It is with enormous sadness we announce the passing of Philip David (Phil) Benest at home on May 10, 2026. He passed peacefully with dignity, and was surrounded by intense love.
Phil Benest was/is the pillar of our family. He was our very proud Dad (Kim and Billy), and beaming proud Grandpa (Kyle, Shawn and Tyler). He was also super-excited and expectant Great Grandpa of twins. He was a loyal and loving brother (Byron) and very proud uncle (Katy).
Words cannot express the impact he has had on all of those he knew and loved. He had a way of healing and helping us all through the bad times, and magnifying and celebrating the good ones. He did so with his unmatched personal touch of empathy, kindness, grace, humour, wisdom and care. The hole he has left behind could never be filled, but we will all continue with his guidance.
May you rest in peace pops. You will always remain in our thoughts and hearts. We pray you will continue to help guide us and take great peace in knowing you are still very much with us.
