BENNETT, John Bennett

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Bennett of Sutton West, Ontario, on February 23, 2026. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Judy, John passed away peacefully with his children by his side following a short illness.

John dedicated many years of service to the Ministry of Natural Resources, a career that reflected his deep respect for the outdoors and the environment. A passionate outdoorsman, John found great joy in nature. He spent many cherished summers at the cottage, where days were measured by the sun on the water, the laughter of his children and nephews and the panting of his ever present springer spaniel. The cottage was a special place for John — a gathering spot for family and friends and a source of countless treasured memories. He also valued time spent fishing on Lake Simcoe and planning annual deer hunts with friends. These outings were more than traditions; they were moments of friendship, and laughter, and stories that will be shared for years to come.

John will be lovingly remembered by his children, Karyn (Brady) and Richard (Erika); his cherished grandson, Michael; his nephews and their families; and his many dear friends.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Ravi Doobay and the compassionate team at Southlake Health Centre for their exceptional care and support.

A celebration of John’s life will be held at Forrest & Taylor Funeral Home in Sutton West at 1:00 p.m.
