Thomas Joseph Bennett – Passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025, at the age of 80.

Tom was a devoted, caring, and loving husband to Lorraine for 44 years. They were always by one another’s side, offering each other quiet strength and steady support through every season of life.

He was the beloved father of Lindsey and son-in-law, Graeme. He was a proud Grandpa to his cherished William and Emma. His greatest joy came from watching his family grow and being part of their everyday moments.

He leaves behind his loving sisters Joan and Marg (Ron), brother Paul and sister-in-law, Jane; nephew Jason (Miranda) and great-nephews.

Tom was the eldest child of Clara and Raymond Bennett.

He was born in Hamilton, grew up in Belleville, and had fond memories of times at the farm in Markdale and summer days at the trailer in the Sandbanks and at the cottage.

Tom was loved by his extended family and was well known in the community for his generosity, kindness, dignity, and warmth.

Tom worked for Ontario Hydro for 27 years. He enjoyed a long retirement full of travel, volunteer work, and time with family. He was an active member of the Bowmanville Lions Club and BOAA.

Tom was passionate about hockey throughout his life and was always an avid sportsman. He also enjoyed walking, boating, skiing, and golfing.

He was a naturally social person who found joy in conversation and connection with others.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

A celebration of Tom’s life will follow at a later date.
