We regret to announce the death of Ernest Benoît, at the age of 96 years, peacefully, on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Rainycrest Long Term Care Home in Fort Frances. Ernest enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Ernest is survived by his children: Rolland of Kapuskasing, Pierrette Bélanger (Gilbert), Thérèse Pelletier (Larry Stewart) of Harty, Denise Andercheck (late Jim) of Scarborough, Irène Roy (late Philippe) of High Prairie, AB, Lise Vallée (Luc) of Timmins, Madelaine Janes (Gary) of Newfoundland, and Gilles (Jocelyne) of Timmins; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ernest was predeceased by his wife Jeanne D’Arc; his parents, Joseph and Joséphine Benoît; six brothers: Émile, Aimé, Arthur, Alcide, Noël and Maurice; and his son-in-law Benoît Pelletier.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 25 at 1:30 p.m. at Immaculée-Conception Church with Father Sébastien Groleau officiating.
The family would greatly appreciate donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation as expressions of sympathy.
