BERNETT, Penelope Marlene Bernett

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by love and family on September 3, 2025 at the age of 92. Pre-deceased by her husband Ernest Douglas Barnett (June 1991).

Loving mother of Eren (Randy), Christopher (Shelley). Adoring grandmother of Andrew, Samantha (Kyle), Kyle, Shelby and Brent. Loving aunt of Nick (Mary) and Martin (Karin).

Marlene passed as she lived…on HER terms. She was a force to be reckoned with for all of her years. She was artistic, funny, witty and deeply devoted to her faith. A church Elder for more years that we can count, her love for her church sustained her always.

Whether she was in her studio designing and creating stained glass windows, or traipsing through the snow and ice in the Arctic, she lived life to the fullest.

We would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the Palliative Care Unit at Michael Garron Hospital for their wonderful care of Marlene and in carrying out her wishes with respect, dignity and love.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 20th at 2:00 p.m. at Beaches Presbyterian Church, 65 Glen Manor Drive, Toronto.
