Beverley Anne (Liddell) Muir

October 5, 1940 – October 12, 2026

6acfebd1e5380

On Thanksgiving morning, October 12, 2026, Beverly Anne Muir (ne Liddell) peacefully passed with her daughter Shawn and Sister Jane present.  Born October 5, 1940 to Cedric and Jean Liddell in North Bay Ontario, “Bev” was the second of five children (Diane, Bev, Candy, Jane, and Jim), the Mother of two (Cam and Shawn), Grandmother of four (Nadia, Annelie, Taylor, and Olivia), and Great-Grandmother of two (Aeza and Rielle).

Beverley Anne Muir was predeceased by her parents, her sister Candy (Don, Dawnline, Patrick), and brother Jim (June, Jasmine, William, and Catherine).  Bev leaves in the wake of her passing, her older sister Diane (Tim, Scott, Craig), and younger sister Jane (Pam), her son Cam (Eliah, Nadia, Annelie, Olivia, Aeza, and Rielle), and her Daughter Shawn (Jeff, and Taylor, Alanna), and uncountable friends.

Beverly Anne Muir spent her childhood in North Bay, and Walkerton Ontario and settled in Port Perry in 1963.  She was a hard working Mother, an artist, and an active member of the Port Perry community for 63 years.  Bev, was a devoted member of the Church of the Ascension in Port Perry. She was politically active and she and Dave were enthusiastic supporters of Port Perry Community Hospital and volunteered to do the books for the Port Perry Hospital auxiliary and the fund raising thrift shop “Camille’s Closet”.   She also lived in, and contributed to the community of Kennisis Lake for ten years.

When she was young she and Dave picked tobacco and did what was necessary to survive.  While caring for her two children, Bev was a part-time social worker for the CAS/CPS for over ten years, and was the office manager and support bookkeeper for their accounting business for 40 years.

Bev loved flowers, made a beautiful garden and composed beautiful photos of her many artistic visions. Bev was a skilled wool worker: so many of us are kept warm by her knit sweaters and cuddle under her crocheted blankets.  Bev’s glass art (engineering in some cases) has offered spectacular all-glass kaleidoscopes, and brilliant window hangings to so many of our homes.

Bev’s passing sends a wave across a deep and broad pool of life-long friends and family.

A memorial service will be held at Low and Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry on Saturday October 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM.  For those unable to attend the service, please join family and friends for a casual visitation and light lunch between 12:30 – 2:30 PM.
