BISHOP, Donald Hector Bishop

February 14, 1929 - April 2, 2026
BISHOP, Donald Hector Bishop

Passed away at the age of 97, at Lakeridge Health Ajax, on April 2, 2026. He was surrounded by the love of the family he built and cherished so deeply. A devoted husband to Grace, Donald’s life was a testament to loyalty, resilience, and enduring love. Together, they created a family that became his greatest pride. He was a loving father to Scott (Nancy), Terry (Sharon), and Dawn (Mark) and a proud grandfather to Lindsay, Stephanie (Brandon), Hailee, Sean, and Caitlin. His joy only grew as he became a great-grandfather to Benjamin, Jacob, and Lucas. He was also a beloved brother to Freida, Marion, Bob, and Joyce. Don was predeceased by his wife Grace, granddaughter Lindsay, and sisters Marion and Joyce.

Donald Hector Bishop will be remembered not just for the life he lived, but for how he lived it; with a stubborn strength that carried him through challenges, a sharp sense of humour that kept those around him smiling, and a truly infectious laugh that could light up any room. His presence was unmistakable, his love unwavering, and his impact immeasurable.

He was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Navy (Jan. 15, 1949 – Jan. 15, 1954) and will be remembered as a Korean War Veteran. He was highly regarded by his colleagues during his lifelong career in the Diagnostic Imaging Industry. As an avid sportsman, he enjoyed hunting and salmon fishing with family and friends. He especially enjoyed family time at the farm near Tyendinaga and the cottage on Skootamatta Lake.

He leaves behind not just memories, but a legacy of love, perseverance, and a life fully lived. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
