BLAKE, Peter John Blake

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Peter John Blake, who passed away on July 2, 2026, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa Hospital, at the age of 89.
Born on February 6, 1937, Pete lived a life defined by hard work, and a love of the open road. He spent many years as a transport truck driver, a career he truly enjoyed. Along the way, he built many lasting friendships with fellow drivers and colleagues, sharing countless miles, stories, and laughs that remained important to him throughout his life.
Pete was the beloved husband of Joan for 62 years, father to Michelle and Peter (Julie), and a proud grandfather to Dan Broughton (Carlie), Lindsay Sproul (Ryan), Mike Broughton, and Delaney Blake and great-grandfather to Mila and Ella.
Outside of work, Pete was an avid car enthusiast who enjoyed car shows, spending time boating and looked forward to annual snow birding to Florida with his wife Joan. Whether behind the wheel or on the water, he found happiness in life’s simple pleasures.
Pete will be remembered for his warm friendships, and the many memories he created with those who knew and loved him. His sense of humour, and steady presence will be deeply missed .
A private family service will be held at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home .
