BOWKER, Kenneth Bowker
May 20, 1934 - March 2, 2026
Passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, at River Glen Haven Nursing Home at the age of 91. Born on May 20, 1934, in Hyde, Manchester, England, Ken was a man of character, craft, and a legendary sense of humor.
Kenβs professional life was rooted in a proud tradition of craftsmanship. After completing his apprenticeship as a Letterpress Machine Minder at the Manchester Municipal College of Technology, he dedicated his career to the printing industry, working with skill and precision in both England and Canada.
Beyond his work, Ken was a man of many passions. Whether he was playing the bagpipes, meticulously woodworking, or lost in a good book, he approached his hobbies with dedication. He was a familiar face on walks with his beloved dogs and was known for his deep love of all animals, especially the many dogs and cats he befriended over the years.
Above all, Ken was outgoing and friendlyβalways ready with a joke to brighten someone’s day and never one to turn down a strong cup of tea.
Ken is now reunited with those who went before him, including his beloved wife, Bridget Bowker, and his dear daughter, Susan Bowker Ferreira.
His legacy is carried on by his son, Stephen Bowker; his cherished grandchildren, Lindsey Neubauer (Michael), Kyle Vandeloo (Jennifer), and Andrew Fairman; and his three great-grandchildren, Madison, Griffin, and Parker, who brought him great joy.
Kenβs family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at River Glen Haven Nursing Home for providing him with exceptional care during his time with them.
In keeping with Kenβs wishes, a private celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kennethβs memory to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
