BRAND, Craig Neil Brand

It is with deep sorrow and grateful hearts that we announce the passing of Craig Neil Brand, who went home to be with his Lord on January 19, 2026, at Sunnybrook Hospital. He has finished the race, kept the faith, and entered into eternal rest.

Craig was born on May 3, 1953, in Toronto, Ontario, to the late Margaret and Thomas Brand. He was the youngest of three boys and is survived by his brothers Ian Brand (Pauline) and Gordon Brand (Cheryl) .

He leaves behind his children, Kristen and Aaron, who were always in his heart.

A devoted Christian man, Craig lived a life that reflected his faith. He loved the Lord deeply and showed that love through kindness, generosity, and a constant willingness to help others. If Craig saw a need, he stepped in without hesitation. He was known by many as someone who would do anything for anyone.

Craig, the “Winged Warrior” had an avid passion for unique classic cars, owning or restoring several over the years, most noteworthy his “plum crazy purple” Cordoba with the “superbird wing”. He enjoyed sharing this enthusiasm with his “car guys” at car shows, the clubhouse and the racetrack, enjoying the comradery of fellow car group members. He loved any opportunity to drag or street race at the track. He will be deeply missed by his many friends from the Durham Region Automative Group, who fondly nicknamed him “Jesus”, remember him as a “devout man of faith, always having a big smile and a kind word.”

To quote Craig words, he is indeed “chillin on the dirt road where the blacktop ends.”

Craig found great joy in worship and music. He loved singing traditional hymns and gospel songs, lifting his voice in praise, both as a soloist and a devoted member of several church choirs over the years. His faith was not only lived but also sung.

He will be deeply missed by all whose lives were touched by his faith-filled heart and generous spirit.

Though we mourn his passing, we rejoice in knowing that Craig has entered the presence of the Lord he loved and served so faithfully.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” – 2 Timothy 4:7
