COOPER, Wilfred Dennis Cooper
April 7, 1944 - March 5, 2026
With deep love and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Wilfred (Wilf) Dennis Cooper, who left this world peacefully after a courageous two year battle with cancer on Thursday March 5, 2026. Throughout every challenge he faced, he carried himself with quiet strength, kindness, and unwavering grace which were the qualities that defined him his entire life.
Born with a generous spirit and a thoughtful heart, Wilf devoted himself to the people he loved most. He was a man who always put family first, finding his greatest joy in the simple moments spent with those he cared for. Whether offering a listening ear, sharing steady wisdom, or showing up exactly when someone needed him, he lived his life as a constant source of love and support.
A proud father and grandfather, Wilf cherished his wife, his children and his grandchildren above all else. He celebrated their achievements, encouraged their dreams, and filled their lives with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. His presence was always gentle, patient, and steadfast which will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
Those who knew him will remember his generous heart, his thoughtful, quiet nature, and the way he treated everyone with kindness. His legacy lives on in the family he adored and the countless lives he touched along the way.
Wilf dedicated 35 years of his career to Navistar International (formerly International Harvester) in Burlington, Ontario. His generosity extended beyond his work life, donating blood more than 125 times, leaving a lasting impact on countless individuals he never had the chance to meet.
Wilfred is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marlene and his children Dennis, Darren (Gloria) and Carolyn (Ric) and his grandchildren Sarah, Erica, Brantley, Benjamin and Isabella. He will be missed by so many friends who were more like family including Vic and Linda and all the βClappsβ. He was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Willis Cooper, and his brother Ken Cooper and will be remembered by his brother, Rick (Robin) and his sister, Patricia.
A celebration of his life, where his compassionate spirit will be honoured, will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026 from 1:00-4:00pm at the Halton Naval Veterans Association (Navy Club) at 2444 Industrial St. in Burlington Ontario where Wilf held the honour of being a Lifetime Member. Cremation has already taken place.
Though his absence leaves an immeasurable void, we take comfort in knowing he is now at peace. His love, lessons, and light will remain with us always.
