BRENDA , Popko Brenda

Brenda Lillian Popko, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025 at home in Ajax Ontario at the age of 93. Born in Nottingham, England on August 13, 1932, Brenda was raised in a large family of nine sisters and one brother. The list of her extended family of first and second nieces and nephews runs well into the hundreds. In 1950, she married the love of her life, Joseph Popko. In 1962, Brenda and Joseph, along with their three young children, embarked on a new adventure, immigrating to Canada. They settled in Ajax, Ontario, where they built a wonderful life, raising their family. The children were blessed to have such devoted, loving and kind parents. Brenda and Joseph enjoyed 63 years of marriage before his passing in 2013. Brenda was first and foremost a dedicated wife and mother. She was also a loyal friend to many, known for her kind words, her wisdom, her sense of humor and her gentle heart. She worked locally in Ajax for decades, with her last position at the Ajax hospital, serving her community with love and enthusiasm. Brenda will be deeply missed by her children, Richard, Vanda and Andrew (Julie) and by her beloved Nina. Her memory will be cherished by her five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In addition to her husband Joseph and 8 of her siblings, Brenda is predeceased by her great granddaughter, Nooveya, her son in law, Bob, and her daughter-in-law, Napatchee. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the steadfast caregiving team for their generous love and kindness. Because of you, Brenda was able to remain at home throughout her final days.
