BRILLINGER, Tom Brillinger

People who knew Tom Brillinger knew he had a story for everything. He had a way of surprising people with his endless life experiences and knowledge. Nothing, though, surprised us more than his sudden passing on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. Tom lived life fully, doing the things he loved most: farming, flying, camping, cottaging, teaching, paddling, and working in the fire service. Most of all, he loved spending time with family, sharing his curiosity about the world, and sharing his understanding of how things work. He will be remembered as a dedicated, passionate and welcoming leader in the fire service. He had a way of making people feel accepted and part of something bigger than themselves.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline; his sons, Gavin (Sara) and Derek (Giuseppe); his grandchildren, Axton and London; his brother, Mike; and a large circle of cherished extended family. Tom is predeceased by his parents Gerald and Norma and his sister-in-law Kathy.

The stories of Tom’s life will live on with the people who knew him and continue to be told and retold. We will celebrate Tom’s life on Tuesday, June 9th 2026 at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street S., Uxbridge (905-852-3073). A ceremony will be held at 1:30p.m. with a celebration of life to immediately follow. We hope that you will join in remembering Tommy and hearing yet another story from his life you may not have known. Please come dressed as casually or as formal as you wish, because we all know Tommy would only care that you showed up.
