 Passed away suddenly and quietly at his home in Meaford, Ontario, on Monday, August 25, 2025, at the age of 71.

Bruce proudly drove long-haul transport truck through Canada and the US for 52 years, and would enthusiastically convey stories of his travels across these two countries. After retiring the loving husband doted on Kathy, his wife of 33 years. In his new-found time he enjoyed working in their large yard, assisting Kathy with planting and caring for her beautiful flowers. He was a “jack of all trades” and always quick to lend a hand to his neighbours and friends on various tasks and projects. He took great pleasure in spending time with his sons, Michael and Christopher.

Bruce is survived by his wife Kathy; his sons Michael (Susan) and Christopher (Deryl); his sister Lorna Byers (Edward) and brother Eric (Robyn); and his nephew Adam and niece Brittany Dubé (Mathieu). He is predeceased by his parents Alvin and Edwina Martinat; his brother Scott (Rickie); and great-niece Ebony.

All are welcome to gather to celebrate Bruce’s life in the Terrace Room at the Meaford Hall on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 1 until 3 p.m., followed by an interment at Lakeview Cemetery at 3:30 p.m..

In lieu of flowers Kathy would be grateful to receive a photo of Bruce or a written anecdote of a moment from Bruce’s life. Alternatively, donations can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada in Bruce’s name which may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON   N4L 1B9 to whom arrangements have been entrusted.   www.fergusonfuneralhomes.ca
