Bruce Steel passed away in Cobourg, Ontario, on September 5, 2026, at the age of 77.
He was the beloved husband of Karen for 53 years and the loving father of Alison (Brad) and Graeme (Grace). Bruce was a proud grandfather to Curtis (Cassie) and step-grandfather to Quin, Miles and Samuel. He is also remembered by his sister Catherine.
Bruce devoted more than 30 years to education and is remembered by friends, students and colleagues throughout Northumberland County and neighbouring communities.
A celebration of Bruce’s life will take place in the MacCoubrey Funeral Home Reception Centre on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Memories will be shared at 1:30 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Charles H. Best Diabetes Centre or Peterborough Regional Health Centre.
