It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maurice “Buck” Bujold our father, grandfather, great-grandfather and husband at the Renfrew Victoria Hospital on Saturday May 23rd, 2026 at the age of 96 surrounded by the love of his children. Born on January 21, 1930 in Campbellton, NB to Marguerite Diotte and Alphonse Bujold. Beloved husband of Violet Burns (nee Bertrand). Buck will be fondly remembered by his four children Marguerite (Jerry Hamelin), Gerry (Isabel), Norm (Susan), Robert (Tom) and his daughters in laws Wendy and Seanna and his first wife the late Dora Anita LeBrun. He was a loving grandpa of 8 and great-grandpa of 8 and great-great grandpa of 1. Buck was predeceased by his sisters Yvette, Irene, Jacqueline and Rolande and his brothers Alfred, and Adrien.
Buck worked in the Pulp and Paper Industry most of his life. He moved from Marathon, ON to Thurso QC, Montreal Head office for Bathurst Pulp and Paper helping with the planning of the New Richmond, QC, and finally as the Steam Plant Superintendent at Portage du Fort, QC where he retired in 1990. He won many awards, he was well known and well respected throughout the industry. Buck remained very active in his retirement and he was a prominent fixture at many Renfrew organizations including the Knights of Columbus, Big Brothers, RCAF Wing, Renfrew Curling Club and the Renfrew Golf Club. He loved to sing, play the guitar and piano. He could always be tracked down by the sound of his whistle. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held at the Goulet Funeral Home, 310 Argyle St S Renfrew on Wednesday May 27th from 2-4, 6-8 pm and after 9:00 am Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Renfrew on Thursday May 28th at 10:30 am. Interment St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Donations in memory of Buck may be made to the Bonnechere Manor Foundation or the Renfrew Victoria Hospital Foundation. The family wishes to thank the staff at Renfrew Victoria Hospital and Bonnechere Manor for the wonderful care that was provided to our Dad. It is greatly appreciated.
