BUMSTEAD, William Bumstead

Passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, August 1, 2025. Born in Owen Sound on December 20, 1990, William Edward Bumstead of Owen Sound, was in his 35th year.

Treasured son of Rick and Bernadette (nee Melosh) Bumstead of Owen Sound. Loving brother of Ryan Bumstead (Mary-Beth) of Thorndale and James Bumstead (TJ) of Lake Charles. Beloved grandson of Elizabeth Bumstead (nee Waugh) of Owen Sound. William’s memory will live on with his nephews, Hudson and Eli Bumstead, and his niece, Raelynn Bumstead. Cherished nephew of Sheldon Bumstead (Leora), Cathy McMillan (David), Clarence Bumstead (Delmar), Bernard Melosh, and Marcia Dixon. Dear cousin of Kaitlyn Agassi (Henry), Isaac McMillan (Kylie), and Adrian Bumstead (Victoria). William will also be missed by Caroline and Rob Draper, and by many great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, and friends.

William was predeceased by his grandparents Raymond Bumstead (2015), Ed (1966) and Anna (1979) Melosh, uncle Edward Melosh (1971), great aunts and uncles Bill and Helen Meloche, and Frank and Mary Moran.

Will found joy in simple pleasures, often spending his time outdoors cycling, kayaking, hiking, and birdwatching. He was an explorer of music across many genres and a talented guitar player. Will enjoyed playing video and board games with his friends. He was well known for his quiet wit and unique sense of humour, which will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Memorial Branch 6, 1450 2nd Ave W, Owen Sound, on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 1 to 5 pm. Arrangements are entrusted to Brian E Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492.
