We are overwhelmed with sadness and sorrow to announce the passing of our beloved son, brother and uncle, Avery Brooks Cappellani. Avery passed away at the Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry on Saturday, July 19, 2025. Cherished son and best friend of Glynnice and Dan. Fun, loving, witty brother of Chelsea (Jesse) and the best hero uncle to Addilyn. His furry friends will miss him immensely.
Avery loved adventure, fine dining, creative cooking, movies, board and video games, golf and connecting with his friends. Avery’s favourite spot to travel was the Bahamas. He was forever grateful to his Aunt Anne and Uncle Keith for introducing him to the Bahamas—his slice of Paradise.
The family wish to thank the medical team at the Oshawa Hospital, the compassionate care team at the Oak Ridges Hospice and the outpouring love and support of the Church of the Ascension community.
A Service to celebrate Avery’s life will be held at the Church of the Ascension, 274 North Street in Port Perry on Friday, July 25th at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment at West Korah Cemetery in Sault Ste. Marie at a later date. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Church of the Ascension, Port Perry, the Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry, or ARCH, Sault Ste. Marie. Although it’s been hard to let go, we take comfort knowing that Avery has received the ultimate healing being in the Loving embrace of God.
