Passed away peacefully with family at his side, on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the age of 92. Beloved husband for 60 years of Luisa (Parete). Loved father of Marie A. Buccella (Joseph), Robert, Sergio (Barb) and Diana. Devoted son of the late Rosario and late Maria (D’Angelo) Di Carlo and son-in-law of the late Camillo and late Antonia Parete. Cherished Nonno of Alicia (Andelko), Jessica (Lucas), Max (Jordyn), Nathan (Rachael), Savannah (John) and Rose. Beloved Bisnonno of Natalia, Benny and Baby Di Lorenzo to be. Dear brother of the late Anna Di Girolomo (late Franco), the late Luisa Antonecchia (late Mario), the late Angiolina Di Fazio (late Rocco), the late Santino Di Carlo (Mary), Italia Simone (late Guerino), Donato Di Carlo (Beatrice) and Vittorio Di Carlo. Brother-in-law of the late Maria Parete (late Giuseppe), the late Rosalia D’Alimonte (late Fioravante), Antonio Parete (Concetta), the late Vittorio Parete (Graziella), Benito Parete (late Assunta), Santino Parete (Pasqua), Cesidio Parete (Rosalia). Adored uncle of many nieces and nephews in Canada, United States, Venezuela and Italy.
Dad was a dedicated employee of Dofasco for 33 years. He enjoyed his garden, making wine, vacations in Acapulco, his laptop and being an avid member of the Eastdale Bocce Club. Above all, his strong love for his family was unmatched. He will also be sadly missed by many friends of the Bevilacqua, the Buccella, the Verrelli, the Coccurello, the Palumbo and Giusti Families.

Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 4:45 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, 304 Highway #8, Stoney Creek on Friday December 5, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. Interment Mountview Gardens, Stoney Creek.
