CARR, David Wayne Carr
November 16, 2025He was born in the small town of Cobourg, Ontario, to his loving parents David and Gertrude Carr. Though he later sought the energy and opportunity of city life in Toronto, he quickly realized that his heart—and his nature—belonged to the simplicity and spirit of small-town living.
Driven, bright, and endlessly curious, Dave pursued his education at Ryerson University. His life changed for the better when he met the love of his life, Kathleen, in Port Dalhousie, where he kept his cherished sailboat, Windscot. Their marriage of 40 years was a partnership built on devotion, respect, and adventure.
Professionally, Dave rose to senior leadership roles in manufacturing, culminating in his tenure with Stanley Hardware. He was a natural leader—steady, principled, and unwavering in his commitment to doing things the right way. After retiring at 65, Dave embraced a new chapter of life, spending nearly two decades wintering in Lakeland, Florida, where he found joy, warmth, and community.
Dave believed deeply in giving back. He dedicated countless hours serving on Boards of Directors in the places he lived and loved, always guided by his strong sense of responsibility and integrity. He was a man who followed the rules not out of obligation, but out of character. He lived with purpose, led with honesty, and expected the same from others.
A wonderful provider and a steady pillar for those he loved, Dave will be remembered for his kind heart, sharp mind, dry wit, and his unwavering intolerance for foolishness. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, loyalty, and a life lived with quiet strength.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of David’s Life will take place at a later date.
