CEDRI, Nazzarena (Zena) Cedri (née Carboni)

With heartfelt sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Nazzarena at St. Peter’s Residence at Chedoke on July 10, 2025, in her 96th year. Nazzarena is now forever reunited with her beloved husband Alfredo (2006). She was a devoted mother to Umberto (Louise) and Massimo (Angela).

Cherished daughter of the late Pasquale and Domenica Carboni and daughter-in-law of the late Umberto and Assunta Cedri. She is predeceased by her siblings Giuseppina (Giovanni) Lanciotti, Vincenza (Alfredo) Marini, Camillo (Litizia) Carboni, Maria (Nazzareno) Pignotti. She was also predeceased by her in-laws Vincenzo Cedri, Giuseppina (Ernesto) Catasta, and Maria (Zenon) Lomaco.

Nazzarena will be missed by her sister-in-law Elvira, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in Canada, Italy, and Argentina. She will also be fondly remembered by the Merulla family, with whom she shared many joyful celebrations and lasting memories.

A gifted gardener, Nazzarena took great pride in growing fresh produce, which she lovingly shared with family, friends and neighbors. She was a devoted cook who found joy in preparing meals for her loved ones—especially her homemade pasta and tomato sauce, which became treasured family traditions.

Special thanks to the staff at St. Peter’s Residence at Chedoke for their exceptional care and compassion. Heartfelt gratitude to PSW’s from her former retirement home, Jasmine, Annemarie, Cody and Maria for their care and kindness. The family also expresses appreciation to Dr. Sabina Keen and her staff.

Visitation will be held at Friscolanti Funeral Chapel, 43 Barton St. E., Hamilton, on Sunday, July 13, from 2–7 pm with vigil prayers at 3 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at All Souls Roman Catholic Church, 21 Barton St. W., Hamilton, on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 10 am. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

In honor of Nazzarena’s memory, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
