Charles James “Jim” Penny

November 28, 1950 – October 20, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles James “Jim” Penny, age 75, on October 20, 2026, at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital, due to complications arising from an automobile accident on September 8, 2026. Jim was the son of the late Lloyd and Francess Penny.

He was the cherished brother of Christina (Doug) Allen of Uxbridge and a devoted uncle to Stephanie and Tim Webster (Mason, Jackson, William and Lainey) of Little Britain; Krista and Gord Appleton (Tyson and Taylor) of Uxbridge; and Trevor and Brittany Allen (Benson and Colson) of Oakwood.

Jim was a loving father to Marnie and Duane Lehr (Matthew, Nadine and Olive) of Castlegar, B.C.; Colleen and Ross Stevens (Christopher and Kat) of Courtice; and Heather Waldock (Bradley, Lexie and Nathan) of Uxbridge. Husband of Dawn (Kennedy) Penny.

Jim was a special friend to many and will be remembered for his calm, quiet nature and his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Farming was a lifelong passion, and Jim spent his life working the land as an active livestock and grain farmer in the local community. Whether harvesting his own crops or helping others with custom work, he took great pride in what he did. Above all, however, his heart belonged to his cattle.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Sunnybrook Hospital and Uxbridge Cottage Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Jim over the past six weeks.

Visitation will be held at Low & Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South, Uxbridge (905-852-3073), on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Foster Memorial Cemetery following the service.

Family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Jim are warmly invited to gather in honour of his life, share memories, and celebrate the lasting impact he had on those around him.

If desired, donations to the Uxbridge Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.  Friends may send condolences or make donations by visiting www.lowandlow.ca.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
