Cheryl Ann Shields passed away suddenly on September 24, 2026. She was born on April 30, 1951.
Cheryl is remembered by her husband of 51 years, Ian; sons David, Michael, and Scott and their families; grandchildren; great-grandson; and lifelong friends Dennis and Valerie Bice. She was predeceased by her parents, Don and Jean Smith, and her brother, the Reverend Glenn R. Smith.
Cheryl worked in education for 41 years and continued helping children after retirement by reading with her grandchildren’s classes. She was a lifelong member of Dunlop Central United Church, active in its UCW, kitchen, bazaar, and choir.
Visitations will take place at Smith Funeral Home in Sarnia on October 1. A celebration of life will be held at Dunlop Central United Church on October 3, followed by a light luncheon. Donations may be made to the church or Diabetes Canada.
