Christopher Scott Waito
October 4th, 1975 – July 25th, 2026
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Christopher Scott Waito after a courageous battle with cancer.
Chris was the beloved husband of Lisa Kargus. He was a devoted father to Shanyn and Bryce, and loving step father to Nick, Alysha, Zach and Jenna. He was a proud and cherished step grand father to Caleb, Nolan and Sophie.
He was predeceased by parents Garry and Barbara Waito (nee Baker), and by his brother Robert.
Chris leaves behind his loving sister Audrey (Bill) and brother Peter (Pam). As well as his nieces and nephews Jessica, Joey, Brianna, Hannah and Celina, along with great nieces and nephews. He will also be deeply missed by parents-in-law Gary and Janet Kargus, brother-in-law Anthony, and his extended family, many aunts, uncles and cherished friends.
Chris will be remembered for his kindness, unwavering faith in God, his deep love for family, quick wit and perfectly kind sarcasm.
Music was one of Chris passions, playing guitar whenever the opportunity arose. He was a proud supporter of the Montreal Canadians, regardless of their season.
Though cancer took far too much, it never took Chris’ spirit strength or love for those around him. He faced every challenge with courage and determination inspiring those privileged to walk beside him.
A Graveside Burial will take place at the Thompson Hill Cemetery, Horton on Sunday, August 2nd, 2026 at 10 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at the The Renfrew Wing, 164 Argyle St. S., Renfrew from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Renfrew Victoria Hospital would be appreciated.
