It is with deep sorrow that the family of Major (Ret.) Lawrence “Nobby” Clark announces his peaceful passing on August 5, 2025, in Oshawa, Ontario, at the age of 86.

Born in Coupar Angus, Scotland, Lawrence and family immigrated to Canada in 1966, beginning a life defined by duty, leadership, and service.

Over the decades, he lived and served across Ontario, calling home the communities of Sault Ste. Marie (1966), Kapuskasing (1967), Clarkson, Mississauga (1981), Cobourg (1990), and finally Oshawa, where he spent his final years.

He was a dedicated mentor to generations of young soldiers and cadets, admired for his integrity, fairness, and quiet strength.

In civilian life, he worked in leadership roles at Molson Ontario Brewery and Agropur Division Natrel, and continued his commitment to public service as a Commissionaires Security Officer in Scarborough, working until his retirement in 2021.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Jean Clark (née Stewart) of Burrelton, Blairgowrie, Scotland in 2021, and by his son David in 2016.

He is survived by his daughters Donna and Debra; grandchildren Kevin, Andrew, Brian, Stephanie, and Stephen; and several cherished great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on:
