It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Clemence Albert Hewett on August 22, 2026, at Fairview Lodge, Whitby, at the age of 92. Clem was the loving husband of the late Elaine Hewett. Proud father of Jodi Hewett-Snowden (the late David), Jeff Hewett (Cathy) and Jerri Kosciesza (Chris), stepfather to Michael Garrison and the late Cathie Rose (the late David). Proud Grandfather to Sarah Marlow-Arsenault (Alvin), Joseph Marlow (Carrie), Ryan Marlow (Paul), Courtney Spence (Chris), Joshua Kosciesza (Caroline), Casey Hewett, and Jacob Kosciesza (Ashley).
Proud Great-grandfather to Ethan Marlow, Leah Marlow, Avril Arsenault, Adeline Spence, William Spence and many fur babies.
Clem was predeceased by his parents, Bert and Clara Hewett and his sister, Phyllis Noonan (the late Jim) and his uncle, Chick Hewett (the late Betty). He is survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
Clem worked at General Motors and EDS for 42 years. Clem enjoyed spending time at his favourite place – the Cottage, travelling, wintering in Fort Myers, watching and attending NASCAR races, going to the hunting camp with the boys, post-retirement lunch visits at the Tartan Tavern with the work guys, and listening to ABBA and Charlie Pride.
We would like to thank all the wonderful staff in Trafalgar Square at Fairview Lodge, for providing such kind and compassionate care.
As per Clem’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place.
