COACH, Ron Coach

Passed away peacefully at Brightshores Health System – Owen Sound on Monday, September 8, 2025. Born in Southampton on December 2, 1947, Ronald William Coach of Owen Sound, was in his 78th year.

Beloved husband for 57 years of the late Mary Anne Coach. Loving father of Della (Robb) Williamson of Stratford, Ted (Laurie) Coach of Chesley and Richard (Teesa) Coach of Cambridge. Cherished grandpa of David, Ana (Brody), Gabriella, Rachel (Marcus), Aarron, Marc, Evan (Sara), Sasha and Curtis. Proud great grandpa of 10 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Ray Coach (Marilyn), and brother in law of Karen, Steve (Deb), Betty (Dave), Connie, Debbie (Roger), Susan (Steve) and Leonard (Carla). Ron will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends from near and far.

Predeceased by his parents Norman and Rose Coach.

Ron spent his childhood creating trouble around Owen Sound with his many friends who he managed to keep a lifelong connection with. He had a passion for cars and drove them like they were meant to be driven, fast. Sometimes he would be followed by flashing red lights. Ron liked going to car shows, with the various cars that he and Mary Anne owned over the years. They created many long-lasting friendships, with bonding experiences over gasoline, exhaust smoke and maybe the odd beverage, if time permitted. As a long time HVAC technician with his dad at the Norm Coach Oil Burner Service and then at Mooney-Grenon Fuels, Ron was well known, and mostly well liked by many in and around his community. Ron finally retired after years of running his own company.

One of his favourite hobbies was making sure Mom got her yearly gift of the annual housecoat and the moving, singing or dancing Christmas stuffed animal. He would pretend to hate it, fooling no one. Ron is reunited with Mary Anne, his bride of 57 years, who left us unexpectedly in July of this year.

A memorial service to celebrate Ron’s life will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., with visitation two hours prior. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed.
