Cherished by her loving husband and best friend Tom. Beloved by her children Rob and his wife Jo-Ann, Debbie and her husband Dave, and mother to Jim (Tammie).
Adored nanny to Robyn, Kristen (Rob), Darren, Kyle, Evan and Miranda. Treasured “great” Nanny to Kali, John, Emily and Niko. Beloved sister to Maurice (Mien), Lenie (Bill), Elsie, Tony (Carrie), and predeceased by Jopie (Ron). Corrie will be missed by her many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Born in Maasdyk, Holland she came to Canada with her family in 1951, settling in Collingwood for many years and later relocating to the GTA. Corrie and Tom loved to travel and visited many wonderful destinations near and far. She was also an avid gardener and was awarded the “Whitby In Bloom Garden Of The Year” in 2007. Corrie spent many hours in recent years puzzling and loved cooking, baking and hosting family dinners. Corrie Leuntje Horner was funny, kind and generous and will be greatly missed by all those that loved her.
Visitation will be held at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home (5295 Thickson Rd. N. Whitby) on Tuesday September 29th from 11:00 – 12:00. A funeral service honouring Corrie’s life will follow at 12:00pm in the Barnes Chapel.
Interment will follow at Groveside Cemetery, Brooklin.
