It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Muriel Lapierre (née Coxen), surrounded by her loving family at Hospice Cornwall on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at the age of 87 years. She was the beloved wife of the late Eugene “Ted” Lapierre.

Shirley was a loving mother of Sandra Kirkey (Dwayne Benton), the late Michael Denneny (late Janice Jodoin), Audrey Helmer (Dean), Patrick Denneny, Kelly Denneny (Louise Dubeau), Erin Denneny (Diane), Marlon Denneny, Tawnya Renaud (Dave) and of the late infant son Wesley. She was also a cherished grandmother of the late Lori Kirkey, Candie Kirkey, Amanda Vella, Allicia Helmer, Kaitlyn Denneny, Matthew Helmer, Patrick Denneny, Rebecca Sinden, Madison Denneny, Joshua Denneny, Chase Renaud, Donovan O’Byrne.

She will be sadly missed by her niece Tammy Moore (Bill). Shirley is predeceased by her parents Albert and Reta Coxen (née Ronalds) and by her brother Billy Coxen (late Pierrette).

Honoring Shirley’s wishes, cremation has taken place privately. A graveside committal will be held at a later date.

As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Cornwall Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Shirley.
