CRAIGMYLE, Donald Lynn Craigmyle

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Lynn Craigmyle after a brief stay in the Haliburton Hospital.

Donald Lynn Craigmyle is survived by his partner in crime and β€œLittle Holy”, Carole (nee Costain), son Doug (Jackie) and Daughter Dianne *Dizey* (Phil). He will be deeply missed for both his humour and wisdom by his three grandsons, Maxwell (Josie), Bennett and Jake, and by his bonus grandkids Connie (Cam), Rodrigo and Liam.

Lynn fell in love with Haliburton when his parents bought a cottage on the shores of Drag Lake in 1956. He met the love of his life while working in a real estate office in Lindsay. It didn’t take long for those two crazy kids to make their way to Haliburton full time. It was here that they raised Doug and Dianne, became deeply rooted in their community and built a beautiful life surrounded by nature and great friends. When not working in Real Estate Lynn would often take β€œcharacter building” adventures with the kids. Both Doug and Dianne developed a deep love for the outdoors and nature through these adventures.

Lynn loved his family hard. He was a very proud husband, dad and grandpa, making sure he spent time with everyone. You felt like you were the only person that mattered when he gave you his ear.

Unfortunately in 2003, after a short but successful battle with cancer, Lynn’s mobility was affected, so some of his adventures had to come to an end. His love of exploring never did. From hours spent by the shores of Dutton Lake in his beloved Haliburton Forest and Wildlife, to listening to the tales of his kids on their global adventures, living life fully was never far from his mind.

Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Snowflake Meadows Rescue (by cheque only), Haliburton Forest and Wildlife (by cheque only) or Haliburton Highlands Health Services Foundation (HHHSF) in Lynn’s honour and can be arranged through the Gordon A.
