CRISTINI, Maria Cristini

It is with profound sadness the family announces the passing of Maria Cristini (née Tersigni).  God called on Maria to join her late husband Loreto on July 15, 2026.  She was born in Sora, Frosinone in 1932 and left Italy in 1960 to begin her life here in Canada.

She is survived by her children Raffaele (Sabine), Ada, Adriana (Gino), and her brother Vincenzo.  She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren David, Christopher (Mariela), Stephanie (Cody), Daniel (Cecilia), Melissa (Curtis), Andrew, Eric and Adam. Her legacy will continue to live on in her great-grandchildren Isabelle, Owen, Sage, Enzo, Audrey, and her step-great-grandchildren Jeimy and Andy. She will also be missed by her nieces and nephews in Italy.

Maria’s greatest joy was her family. She poured her heart into raising her children and later into loving her grandchildren and great‑grandchildren. She taught all of them kindness, the value of hard work, and what unconditional love truly looks like.  Her home was a place of welcome, where meals were made with care, stories were shared, and everyone felt safe, seen, and loved.

She enjoyed spending time in her garden and took great pride in watching her 200 tomato plants and other vegetables grow. She also loved making fresh pasta, gnocchi, lasagna, and ciambelle.

She will be remembered for her strong spirit, her resilience, and the way she made every person feel important. Her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured, each carrying forward the lessons she taught simply by the way she lived.

Maria will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
