Dave Rutherford, aged 84, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2026, after many stays in the hospital over the past years.
He was born in Vancouver, BC, and spent his life in British Columbia. He completed grade 12 in North Vancouver High and attended one year of further education at UBC Vancouver.
He was an entrepreneur, building personal businesses, and later in life, managing businesses for others. Dave was energetic, enthusiastic, and a visionary!
We travelled across Canada from Halifax back to BC by car to enjoy our country from border-to-border and see the landscape, visiting family and enjoying the highlights of Canada. Dave loved car races, hockey and building businesses.
We visited Hawaii many times, did the Panama Cruise, and enjoyed hot spring spas here and there.
Left to cherish his memory are wife, Betty, of 55 years of marriage, and daughter, Charly (Tammy Lynn), and grandchildren Aiden and Ashley, Josh and Teagen, and Jacob; and son John and Erin and grandchildren, Rosie, Phoebe and Jonathan.
Grandpa Dave was fun and loving and enjoyed his family and friends. We loved the have dinners at home and out and mix with others who were dear to us.
He will be missed by Betty, his growing family, and many friends.
