Peacefully, in her sleep, at Park Lane Terrace on April 6th, 2025 in her 89th year. Daughter of the late John and Mabel Summerhayes and stepdaughter of the late Florence Summerhayes. Predeceased by husbands Donald Curtis and Raymond Dawdy.
Loved mother of John (Yurima), Sue (Jeff), and Allan Curtis. Survived by her sisters Anne Edelman (Ron Jutzi) and Jackie Joyce (Wayne). Grandmother to Jordan Ella (Jayde), Maclay (Sarah-Elizabeth), Mabel (Shawn), Brady (Dez), and Bennett Curtis. Great-grandmother to Colton, Callie, Carter Curtis, and Senora Cameron. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A lifetime resident of Paris, Shirley was very involved with Meals on Wheels with the United Church in Paris for over 40 years and was also a long-standing member of Richwood United Church. She traveled extensively and enjoyed many wonderful years at her cottage on Harris Lake.
She will be missed by her dear lifelong friends, Ethel, Janet, and Yvonne, and her Harmony Bay family. Special thanks to all the staff members at Park Lane Terrace for their dedicated care.
Friends may call at the Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, 184 Grand River St. N. Paris for visitation on Friday, April 11th from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm, and Saturday morning April 12th at 10:00 am. Funeral service to commence at 11:00 am. A private interment will follow.
