Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Amica Retirement Home in Whitby on October 3rd, 2026. Predeceased by her husband, Michael, parents, Charles and Phyllis Anderson. Survived by her sister, Joan (Ted) Wand, and nephews, Scott (Heidie) and David (Deb) Wand, and niece Leslie (Carl) Leite and great nephews Elliot and Quinn and great niece Lauren.
Deanna Veronica Ellis was a noted quilter and lover of animals, especially all her West Highland white terriers. An avid nature lover who religiously fed herds of chipmunks who inhabited her country gardens. She was a lover of great food and fine wines and noted for her oven warmed serving plates.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and at her request, wished only to be remembered fondly. Donations in her memory may be made to either Ontario Veterinary College Pet Trust, in the care of the University of Guelph, or the World Wildlife Fund Canada.
