DEMERS, Joan Ann Demers

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joan Ann Demers. Joan passed away on Thursday night after two days in the Huntsville Hospital on July 9, 2026. Born on February 4, 1944, in Burnhamthorpe to Rita Dvell and Robert Scott, along with seven brothers, Don, John, Bill, Vic, Gord, Howard, Gary and two sisters Jean and Margie.

She married Al Norman and spent 20 years in Timmins farming while raising two kids, Tim and Colleen.

Joan then met Leo and they married in June of 1983. They built a new home in Shillington and set up a potato farm while Gayle Tracy-Lynn was born in December 1986!

She then moved to Codrington, then to Timmins and gave up farming, finally settled down in Tilden Lake where Joan enjoyed the water for 20 years.

Moved to Huntsville in 1996 among the deer and the turkeys! Joan will be lovingly remembered.

A memorial service will take place on Tuesday July 14th, 2026, at 2pm at Billingsley Funeral Home, 430 Ravenscliffe Rd, Huntsville, Ontario. A reception will follow.
