DENOBLE, Joan Marie DeNoble

Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health early February 1, 2026. She will be remembered for a life defined by love and laughter and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She will be greatly missed by her husband Peter of 61 years, her children Greg (Vera) and Jill (Jason). She was a loving Grandmother to Holly, Nik, Kiara and Ethan, and Great Grandmother to Ophelia and Octavia. Joan graduated from St. Josephs School of Nursing in Peterborough in 1963 as a registered nurse. She worked for a few years at Peterborough and Oshawa hospitals and the Oshawa Clinic. She then poured her heart into her family, as a devoted wife and a loving mother. Her home was a place of warmth, steadiness, and quiet strength, and she took great pride in supporting and nurturing those closest to her with patience and kindness. As her children grew Joan worked part time as an Electrolysis Technician for 10 years. In her retirement years, Joan continued to give back to her community as a caring volunteer at Lakeridge Health for over 20 years. Her presence there reflected the same generous spirit that guided her earlier career – always ready to listen, to help, and to bring comfort to those around her. We would like to thank all the love and support received from our family and friends over the last few weeks. We would especially like to acknowledge her family physician Dr. Sarah Ritchie and Alannah for the wonderful care she received over the years, and to Jan from King Street East Pharmacy who went above and beyond. We are grateful for the wonderful care she received at Lakeridge Health from the Palliative Care team, especially Dr. Graham and Dr. Vieira and the nursing staff. Joan will be remembered for her sense of humor and her quick smile and will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. There will be a Celebration of Life in the Spring. At that time donations can be made in Joan’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
