DEVINE, John Devine

Passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital at the age of 74. Beloved brother of Hugh, Cecilia, David and Vincent. Predeceased by his parents John and Cecilia. He will be missed by many extended family, friends and colleagues.

John was born in Auchinleck, Scotland on July 15th 1951. He emigrated to Canada in 1967. He attended The Royal Conservatory of Music, and was a gifted accordion player. He began his career as an Information Technology Specialist with Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto and subsequently worked for many years with Trans Northern Pipeline Inc., retiring in 2012.

John was a great entertainer, had a good eye for interior decorating, and his house was his pride and joy. He dearly loved his cats and they were a great source of companionship for him. John had a very generous nature and would drop everything to help out friends and neighbours.

John left behind a treasury of memories which each of us will dearly cherish. A time and place for a Celebration of Life for family and friends will be set at a future date.
