DHILLON, Mark Singh Dhillon

Passed away unexpectedly on January 21, 2026, at the age of 42. His passing leaves a profound emptiness in the lives of those who loved him, and in the many corners of the community where his laughter, generosity, and steady kindness once lived so naturally.

Born on February 18, 1983, Mark grew into a man defined by love — love for his family, for his community, and for the simple, meaningful connections that make life rich. He and Virginia were high school sweethearts, growing up side by side and building a bond rooted in friendship, loyalty, and deep affection. After many years together, they chose to begin their family in 2018, welcoming their first daughter in 2019. Their daughters, Amelia and Penelope, became the heart of Mark’s world. He embraced fatherhood with joy, playfulness, and pride, always present, always patient, and always ready with a smile or a silly moment to make his girls laugh. Being their dad was his greatest honour.

Mark is lovingly remembered by his parents, Amarjit and Amrit, and by his siblings, David and Isabella. His extended family — aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws — along with countless friends, neighbours, and community members, will forever feel the absence of his easy warmth and generous spirit.

Mark had a gift for making people feel seen and welcomed. He believed deeply in community — not in grand gestures, but in everyday acts of care. He supported local restaurants and farmers, checked in on people simply because he thought of them, and offered help long before anyone had to ask. Children were drawn to him, and he to them; he had a natural gentleness and playfulness that made young people feel safe, valued, and understood. At his restaurant, he would often stand at the window or step outside to wave to the schoolchildren walking by each day — a small ritual that brought joy to him and to the kids who eagerly waved back.

Mark was also a proud restaurant owner in Kelowna’s downtown community. Building Taco Delhi was one of his greatest accomplishments — a reflection of his creativity, his heritage, and his love for bringing people together through food. His family will honour him by continuing his legacy and nurturing the brand he worked so hard to build, ensuring that his spirit remains present in the community he cared for so deeply.

He found joy in travelling, especially to Hawaii, where the beach, the sun, and the slower pace brought out his most relaxed, happy self. He loved good food, family time, and the small rituals that make a life meaningful. His playful side shone through in the way he teased his daughters, made funny faces, and captured their everyday adventures through photos — tiny moments he treasured and shared with pride.

Mark Singh Dhillon will be remembered for his giving heart, his devotion to his family, and the quiet, steady goodness he brought into the world. His absence will be felt deeply, and his memory will be carried forward with love.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a GoFundMe created for his daughters, which will be placed into a trust fund for their future: www.gofundme.com/f/mark-singh-dhillon
