DONKERS, Gerard Jacobus Donkers

Passed away at Ross Memorial Hospital on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at the age of 88 years.

Loved and missed by his wife Sandra (nee Carlin).  Dad will always be loved and remembered by his children Chris (Wanda) and Nancy Donkers.  Cherished Opa of Amanda and Hayley and step-Opa of Sabrina, Samantha and Danielle and great Opa of Shyanne, Kiley-Anne, Audrey, Alexandrea, Tucker and Adam.  Brother of Chris, Theresa, Dina, Anne, John and Joanne.  Also remembered by his niece Joanne and nephews Teddy, Henry, Frank, Chris, Mike, John and Jim.

Gerard Jacobus Donkers immigrated to Canada from the Netherlands in 1957 by ship to start his journey living with his sister Dina VanKessel and her husband John Van Kessel. Gerard worked at General Motors, His whole career of 35 years enjoying his interests in sports like soccer and bowling and playing darts. Gerard also had other interests in gardening, woodworking and spending time with family and grandkids at barbecues and holiday occasions.

A Royal Canadian Legion and funeral service to celebrate Gary’s life will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 1p.m. with visitation 2 hours prior. A reception will immediately follow the service. A private interment will take place at Uxbridge Cemetery.
